Brian Natwick has served as President of Crescent Communities’ multifamily business since 2011. In this role, Mr. Natwick leads a 70 member team across the Southeast and Southwest with an active investment and development portfolio of 40 communities (12,700 units) completed or under construction representing $2.6 billion in capital deployed. In addition, his team is planning another round of investments of 15 communities (5,000 units) totaling $1.2 billion in capitalization. With over 20 years of real estate experience, he oversees all aspects of strategy, business development, capital deployment, and execution of all new luxury apartment communities. Mr. Natwick previously served as Regional Vice President and joined Crescent Communities in 2006.
Prior to Crescent, Mr. Natwick held senior management and executive positions at Centex Construction Company (now Balfour Beatty), Skanska USA Building, and Moss & Associates and was responsible for over $500 million (7,500 units/keys) of multifamily and hotel development. He has provided development services for clients such as Walt Disney Imagineering, LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels and the Blackstone Group.
Active in the community and industry, Mr. Natwick serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity Charlotte (past chair) and the McColl School of Business at Queens University and is an active member of Urban Land Institute (MF Gold Product Council), National Multi Housing Council and Young Presidents' Organization. He graduated with highest honors from the University of Florida with a degree in building construction and earned a master’s in business administration from the McColl School of Business at Queens University in Charlotte.
Jay Curran joined Crescent Communities’ Multifamily team in 2013 and currently oversees all multifamily investments for Florida and Georgia, where Crescent has had over 3,000 units delivered, under construction or in development currently. Prior to Crescent, Jay served as Vice President of Development for Archstone, and led development of luxury multifamily communities throughout Texas and Florida.
Jay’s experience in developing multifamily projects began while he was at Novare Group, where he managed the development of high-rise residential and hospitality projects in excess of $400 million. Prior to Novare, he served as a strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group. Jay earned an MBA from Duke University and bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kansas University.404-239-7251
Ben Collins, Senior Managing Director (Tennessee, Texas, Colorado and Arizona) joined Crescent Communities in 2010 and currently serves as Senior Managing Director for the West region. He has over 15 years of real estate development experience and has been responsible for the development of over 7,000 multifamily units throughout the Southeast totaling over $1.3 billion.
Prior to Crescent, Collins was responsible for leading a regional multifamily office for Colonial Properties Trust (NYSE: CLP) and has served in development and acquisition roles for Grubb Properties and The Community Builders.
Collins serves in multiple leadership roles including serving as Board member for: Apartment Association of North Carolina, National Multi Housing Council, Greater Charlotte Apartment Association (Vice-President) and Mosaic Development Group (Executive Committee). Ben earned a graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison Real Estate program and also has an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
Jason LaBonte, Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer joined Crescent Communities in 2016. He oversees Crescent’s investment strategy, capital markets and finance activities for both the multifamily and commercial platforms totaling over 6,500 units and two million square feet. As a part of this role he is responsible for joint venture equity and debt relationships, finance and asset management functions. He is also a member of Crescent Communities’ Investment Committee and plays a key role in the development and disposition of assets. Jason has over twenty years of real estate experience and more than fifteen years of capital markets and private equity experience working as a Managing Director for Bank of America Merrill Lynch both in New York City and Charlotte, where he executed over $50 billion in transactions within the firms Leverage Finance, Real Estate Investment Banking and Global Strategic Capital groups.
Jason received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and has a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in finance from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Jason also holds the designation of Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. Jason currently serves for the Board of Carolinas Student Hunger Drive, a non-profit dedicated to reducing hunger in the Carolinas and is active with ULI as a member of the Capital Markets Committee.
As Managing Director, Michael Tubridy oversees all predevelopment and entitlement efforts for Crescent Communities in the Carolinas. Since joining Crescent, Tubridy has led the development of over 2,200 units in the Charlotte and Nashville markets and is currently responsible for managing the Company’s $250 million pipeline of multifamily and mixed-use projects in Charlotte.
Prior to joining Crescent in 2013, Tubridy served as the Vice President of Development for Aimco, a national apartment REIT, where he led the Southeast Region’s multifamily redevelopment and repositioning efforts. He began his career as a Multifamily Development Consultant for Dale Henson Associates in Atlanta, GA. Tubridy is a graduate of the University of Richmond and holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel Hill.980-321-6247
Kyle Brock joined Crescent Communities in 2017 and overseas all Multifamily investments in our Georgia region. Kyle has over 18 years of professional investment experience including 13 years of multifamily real estate experience. Over his career, Kyle has developed over 2,500 multifamily units totaling over $1.5 billion. Prior to Crescent, Kyle served as Senior Vice President of Development for Carter and led development of luxury multifamily and student housing communities throughout the Southeast. Prior to Carter, Kyle led financing of high-rise residential and hospitality projects at Novare Group. Kyle holds a BBA from The University of Georgia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. As Managing Director in Texas, Michael Blackwell oversees all sourcing, design, entitlements and execution of multifamily and related mixed-use investments in the major Texas markets. Prior to joining Crescent in 2011, Blackwell managed urban mixed-use projects in metro Washington DC for national apartment developer JPI and briefly worked in the Real Estate practice at Willis North America, where he advised national apartment firms on risk and insurance strategies. Blackwell is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, where he served on the Board of Trustees from 2010-2014. Engaged in his profession and community, Blackwell is active in The Real Estate Council, Urban Land Institute, and National Multifamily Housing Council and currently serves on the boards of the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce and the White Rock Lake Foundation.469-513-5603
As Managing Director of Florida for Crescent Communities’ multifamily business, Tim oversees the sourcing of new development investments, as well as leading the teams through all design, entitlement and execution efforts. Tim brings 14 years of multifamily development and investment experience to his position. Prior to joining Crescent in October of 2018, Tim served as a development executive for Alliance Residential North Florida Division where he successfully led the sourcing and development of 1,400 luxury multifamily units. Tim’s experience in multifamily began as a development manager for Trammell Crow Residential North Florida division. Daniel Cooper, Senior Vice President Construction, joined Crescent Communities in 2016. In his role, Daniel, with his team of quality construction professionals, is responsible for the successful planning, execution and completion of all of Crescent’s development projects as well as our in-house construction services. With over 16 years of construction management experience in a wide range of urban and suburban high-density projects, Daniel has successfully delivered over 8,000 multi-family units. Daniel previously served at the executive level at Fortune-Johnson, Inc., one of the nation’s premiere urban multifamily and mixed-use general contractors, where he was employed from 2005-2016.
Daniel holds a Board seat with the East Carolina University Construction Department and has actively participated in a wide range of local community and industry based charitable projects. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business in 2003.404-239-7260
Eric Rothrock joined Crescent in 2013 as Vice President, Preconstruction. He is responsible for all budgetary aspects of preconstruction and design for the Company’s Multifamily assets. Eric has developed and implemented several budget projection processes to help the Company evaluate anticipated cost models. Prior to joining Crescent, Eric served as the Director of Preconstruction for Samet Corporation and specialized in condominiums at Rodgers Builders and Carothers Construction. He has also been the Vice President and Chief Estimator and his family’s subcontracting company and served as a Project Manager for Hurricane Katrina residential storm relief repairs.Eric holds his bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University.
Doug Lawrimore joined Crescent in 2013 as Vice President, Construction where he is responsible for the execution of all 3rd party multifamily projects and in-house construction projects. Doug has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry and has overseen construction of over four million sq. ft. of commercial space, one million of which is LEED Gold Certified, and 12,000 multifamily units. Prior to joining Crescent, Doug served as Vice President of Construction for a Fortune 500 Company and was a Senior Construction Manager for the US Department of Energy. As VP of Construction, Kris Kashata is responsible for all of Crescent’s Texas, Colorado and Arizona multifamily construction efforts. Kris joined Crescent in 2014. Since joining Crescent, he has been responsible for the oversight and execution of 600 units in the Dallas and Houston markets. Kris has been in the multifamily development business for 20 years and developed 7,500 units with $700mm of deployed capital. Prior to Crescent, Kris was a senior leader and developer at Duke Residential Development Partners, Alliance Residential Company and Verde Realty. Kris holds a B.A. from The University of Texas at Dallas.
