Crescent Communities Announces Plans For New Mixed-Use Development in Charlotte’s Thriving Montford Park Neighborhood
announced a new mixed-use project in south Charlotte’s vibrant Montford Park neighborhood.
Crescent Montford Park will be developed at the sought-after site of the former Pfeiffer University Charlotte campus and will feature 337 apartments and 17,000 sq. ft. of retail space fronting Park Road. The community will be located just steps away from the city’s planned 1.5-mile extension of the Cross Charlotte Trail, and its convenient position along Park Road will provide residents easy access to the growing number of exciting shopping and dining destinations at nearby Park Road Shopping Center and Montford Drive.
“The Charlotte market continues to remain strong for new development, and Crescent Montford Park is ideally situated to showcase Crescent’s approach of bringing distinctivly crafted living opportunities to locations that feature the walkable amenities our residents are looking for in a neighborhood. With more than fifty restaurants, retail shops, exciting nightlife, entertainment venues, parks and greenways, Montford Park has it all,” said Michael Tubridy, Managing Director of the Charlotte market for Crescent Communities. “We are pleased to expand Crescent’s investment in our home market of Charlotte with the addition of this outstanding new mixed-use development.”
Crescent currently has three other mixed-use projects under construction in Charlotte representing a total of 1,200 apartments and over 100,000 sq. ft. of retail. They are Crescent Stonewall Station
, Crescent NoDa
and Crescent Providence Farm
Crescent has hired Atlanta-based Fortune-Johnson as the project’s general contractor, and construction on Crescent Montford Park will begin in the coming weeks. Current development plans call for retail to open and first units to be available for lease by spring of 2019.
Charlotte based LandDesign is the civil engineer for the project and KTGY Architecture led the development’s inspired mid-century modern design. Ironwood Design Group is the landscape architect and the community’s interiors were designed by Vignette Interior Design.
Mark Miller with Lat Purser & Associates represented Crescent in the land transaction. Adam Williams with Legacy Real Estate Advisors has been selected to manage retail leasing in the development.
