Charlotte, N.C. – (January 12, 2021) – Today, Crescent Communities, a nationally-recognized, market-leading real estate investor, developer, and operator of mixed-use communities, announces that their forthcoming Ally Charlotte Center community has achieved a Platinum Wired Certification – the highest level possible, and the first Platinum Wired certification in Charlotte. There are only four Wired Certified buildings in Charlotte to-date, two of which are part of the Crescent Communities portfolio: the aforementioned Ally Charlotte Center and One Independence Center, which holds a Gold Certification.

Wired Certification, developed by WiredScore, champions cutting-edge technology in commercial real estate by providing the only certification for rating the connectivity of commercial buildings. On a scale of four certifications – Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum – Wired Certified Platinum is the highest rating possible, positioning Ally Charlotte Center as best in class across all features of connectivity that matter most to tenants: number and quality of internet service providers, redundancy and resiliency of telecom infrastructure, ease of installation, and the capacity to readily support new telecom services. The building will support current and future tenants with the most stringent technology requirements, which is especially important as reliance on technology in the workplace grows, and digital connectivity becomes increasingly essential to businesses.

“We are pleased to offer our tenants the very best in digital connectivity, technology infrastructure and future-proofing resiliency,” says Amy Bezanson of Crescent Communities. “At Ally Charlotte Center, tenants can look forward to state-of-the-art connectivity capabilities and functions, exceeding the expectations of a Class A office environment.”

All WiredScore Certifications are earned based on a scrupulous point system, wherein buildings are awarded points based on the following features: outside plant and point of entry planning, telecommunications room planning and design, riser planning, electrical resiliency, wireless planning, and readiness and access. Buildings with total points ranging from 50-69 are classified as Certified, 70-79 are Silver, 80-89 are Gold, and 90-100 are Platinum. Ally Charlotte Center achieved 94 total points.

Key features of Ally Charlotte Center that contributed to the prestigious Platinum Certification include the building’s infrastructure, connectivity, electrical resiliency, and wireless network infrastructure. These features improve office tenant experiences in a multitude of ways, including easing the internet setup process, offering protection from internet outages, and being prepared for digital advances in the future of technology. According to WiredScore, digital connectivity is the third most important factor for businesses searching for office space, behind only cost and location.
