Crescent Communities Introduces its HARMON Build-to-Rent Brand to Phoenix
PHOENIX (May 6, 2025): Crescent Communities, a nationally recognized, market-leading real estate investor, developer, and operator of mixed-use communities, today celebrated the ceremonial groundbreaking at its newest build-to-rent development, HARMON Ascend, following its land close and official groundbreaking in June 2024. With 125 three- and four- bedroom two-story townhomes featuring individual two-car garages, HARMON Ascend – Crescent’s first HARMON property in the greater Phoenix market – is set to welcome its first residents in spring 2026.
Situated on W. Indian School Road in Avondale, HARMON Ascend is located less than 20 miles northwest from downtown Phoenix. The location provides convenient access to major employment and lifestyle destinations, including Wigwam Golf Club, Wigwam Creek Shopping Center, Monument Point Business Park, and Goodyear Community Park. Intended to be more than just a collection of homes, HARMON Ascend is envisioned as a true Arizona-style swim club, bringing neighbors together through play, connection, and a strong sense of community.

The project’s equity partner is an account managed by Heitman LLC. Other partners include Atwell as civil engineer, BSB Design as architects, Kimley-Horn as civil engineer, and Mosiac as general contractor.
HARMON Ascend marks Crescent Communities’ sixth multifamily investment in the greater Phoenix market. Last fall, Crescent celebrated the grand opening of NOVEL Val Vista, its globally inspired bohemian community in Gilbert. The brand will soon celebrate the groundbreaking at Heritage Park, a commercial mixed-use district that will include elevated office, retail, residential, and recreational spaces. Its legacy communities in the region include NOVEL Midtown Phoenix, now MAA Midtown Phoenix; NOVEL Rio, now Trovita Rio; Crescent Highland, now Art on Highland; and Crescent Scottsdale Quarter, now Broadstone Scottsdale Quarter.
