Monarch Market Announces Cocktail Bars and Additional Food Stall Vendors

CHARLOTTE, N.C., (September 19, 2023) - Crescent Communities and Hospitality HQ announce today three additional food stall vendors and two bar concepts to join Monarch Market. Kabab2Go, Seoul Good and a forthcoming concept from the owners of Sosu will be three of the 12 food stalls in the 18,000 square foot culinary collective. They join three other vendors previously announced, Barley & Burger, Curry Junction, and Rolled AF.

Kabab2Go is a locally owned authentic Mediterranean deli offering a variety of Lebanese mezze and grilled kabab. Monarch Market will be their second Charlotte location. Seoul Good, from the owners of another Uptown staple, Fujiyama, will bring enticing flavors of Korean-style street food, including Kup-bap (Korean rice dish) and K-Dogs (Korean corn dogs). Sosu is an anime themed Japanese restaurant serving ramen, udon, bao and dumplings. For the Monarch Market, they plan to bring a new concept featuring Laotian cuisine with a menu highlighting sticky rice.

“Kabab2Go is a tradition that started 70 years ago, offering authentic Lebanese cuisine using the best ingredients. We are thrilled to join the Monarch Market community and bring these Mediterranean flavors to Uptown,” says Tony Soufi, owner.

“Seoul Good will offer a convenient, trendy and distinctly Korean culinary experience that caters to the rapidly growing and changing palates of Charlotte. We’re excited to bring forth our new concept and dishes as we present our latest endeavor,” says Seoul Good owner, Da Nam.

“We look forward to our continued expansion in the Charlotte area. The innovative space and prime location of Monarch Market make for an ideal place for us to debut a new concept that pays homage to my heritage,” remarks Rocky Jokbengboon, owner of Sosu Noodle Bar.

In addition to the three food stalls, Monarch Market is pleased to announce Aster Cocktail Room and Lanai Terrace Bar, two of the three bars on-site to offer unique beverage experiences. Aster celebrates the art of the cocktail, merging classic cocktails with fresh ingredients and modern drink recipes to create a unique offering. Aster is located on the second floor above Monarch Market’s main dining area and features an indoor cocktail room and outdoor terrace. Lanai will be Uptown’s slice of paradise, an expansive covered patio on Tryon Street offering refreshing drinks in a coastal-inspired setting. Guests will be able to enjoy food from Monarch Market vendors at both bars.

“Monarch Market is shaping up to be a culinary experience unlike any other in the Southeast,” says Brendan Pierce, President of Commercial at Crescent Communities. “Our focus on bringing a diverse set of locally-and regionally-based culinarians together under one roof with multiple dining environments, plus the convenience of online ordering and quick pick-up, will appeal to everyone and every outing–from business lunches to post-work drinks, pregame meals to nightcaps, and everything in between.”

Monarch Market will debut this Fall at 101 North Tryon Street, on the ground floor of One Independence Center.
