In Recognition of Injustice

In Recognition of Injustice

A Message from the Senior Leaders of Crescent Communities:

We are deeply disturbed by the recent killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and the many others before them, and by the widespread systemic injustice that continues in our nation. Crescent Communities acknowledges the inequalities – both visible and invisible – in our country and is committed to having tough conversations to listen, learn, and further commit to taking meaningful action to fight racism and discrimination in all forms.

Our team understands the urgency of taking action, and we are discussing how to increase the efforts to move forward in support of our colleagues, communities, and the important work being done across the country against racial injustice. We know the answer is complex and will take time and careful attention, but that together we can move forward. To that end, we have begun to create tangible opportunities for our team members to be a part of the conversation – to listen, learn, share, and discuss ideas with proactive solutions.

We are committed to fostering a more diverse and inclusive work environment and will support the groups that are taking action to create change in the fight against social injustice and racism. To start, we are making a financial contribution to the Equal Justice Initiative. We are committed to confronting racial injustice and bias and ensuring that our communities are welcoming to all regardless of race, gender, or religious preference.

Our fundamental company value is “Do what’s right.” This is not an empty promise. We hold ourselves accountable to actively advocate for unity, equality, and justice in the fight against racism. We are with you, we are listening, and we will fight this together.
