Charlotte, N.C. – (November 30, 2023) – Today, Crescent Communities, a nationally recognized, market-leading real estate investor, developer, and operator of mixed-use communities, shares leasing updates at One University Place. The four-story, 84,400 square foot office space is located in the heart of Charlotte’s University City submarket.

Crescent Communities acquired One University Place in 2021 and conducted renovations to the interior and exterior amenities, including upgrades to its façade, landscape, hardscape, and office suites, as well as upgraded connections to the area’s most popular amenities – the activated waterfront, restaurants, and retail stores.

In the last six months alone, nearly 13,000 square feet of office space has been committed at One University Place, with current tenant renewals making up over 60% of overall leasing activity. Returning tenants include ArdorITSolutions, Biloba Architecture, and CMTA. Nearly 15,000 square feet of space with abundant natural light and lake views is still available for lease. “We are thrilled to see so many returning tenants, as well as a steady flow of new leases at One University Place,” says Sagar Rathie, Managing Director of Commercial Office Development at Crescent Communities. “From the start, our goal for this property was to provide a desirable place to work in terms of amenities, updated features, and walkability to nearby attractions, while contributing to the University submarket as a whole. More than two years later, we’re pleased to see we’ve already surpassed this goal.”

One University Place is located at 8801 J.M. Keynes Drive, at the corner of N. Tryon Street and WT Harris Boulevard. The University of North Carolina Charlotte is just across the street, and in October 2023 was awarded a $500,000 Strategy Development Grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration as part of the first federal Tech Hubs program. This grant further proves that the area is a growing catalyst for industry growth and technology commercialization.

Located nearby is Crescent Communities’ Escent Research Park, another state-of-the-art building that offers 159,000 square feet of Class A creative office space. It has achieved Fitwel and WiredScore certifications and is LEED certified. Multifamily and commercial developments in the area include Crescent Communities’ NOVEL University Place and legacy community NOVEL Research Park. These premier office, commercial, and multifamily projects continue to attract top tier companies and talent into the immediate area.
